A detailed report by confirmed a lot of details around the Galaxy S8. Samsung has now taken all important product decisions and already in December the main partners such as network operators and dealers via the Galaxy S8. has compiled a comprehensive report from statements from this environment.
Murtazin quotes two people who were already allowed to watch and test the Galaxy S8. Both should have shown themselves enthusiastically. The industry is almost electrified and has corrected the forecasts for the sales figures upwards. It is already foreseeable that Samsung can not completely use the demand for the Galaxy S8 to the sales start.
Samsung Galaxy S8: Price Spacification Features
Murtazin has already noticed reliable information in the past, so the report appears to be credible. Whether Murtazin is justified in all respects is not to be expected. Its representation is however very coherent, so that it is as currently best source around the Galaxy S8 is to be seen. We have completely revised our overview of Galaxy-S8 rumors accordingly.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus: price
For the first time, information about Murtazin’s price has become known. The prices are unlikely to stand out from the S7 generation. According to this would be with a price of 699 euros for the Galaxy S8 and 799 euros for the Galaxy S8 Plus.
Samsung Galaxy S8: release only mid-April
Typically, Samsung introduces new S Series smartphones on Sunday before the MWC in Barcelona. For this year, the most likely date for the unpacked event would be February 26th. A few weeks later, the new “S-Class” will go on sale. But this year everything is different.
According to Eldar Murtazin, the Galaxy S8 on the MWC 2017 will not be available to the public. Behind closed doors, however, there will be the S8 for partners. It will be public until the end of March or early April.
Samsung Galaxy S8: Rumors about the technical equipment
Samsung is to develop the Galaxy S8 under the codename Project Dream. The model numbers will be SM-G950 and SM-G955. Samsung will therefore stick to a large and a small Galaxy S8.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus: Display and design
Samsung has already set 2015 and 2016 in its S-Smartphones to two different sizes. The S6, the Samsung S6 Edge side, the S7 the S7 Edge.
Also from the Galaxy S8 Samsung will present two different versions. However, the differences are small. Above all, the display diagonal will differ. The core element of the Galaxy-S8 designs is a frameless display be occupying the front of the smartphone almost completely. In addition, Samsung is in both versions Edge displays running. The large model is therefore expected Galaxy S8 Plus hot. In terms of materials, the S8 should hardly differ from its predecessor: glass on the front and back so.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus : Here Samsung uses a 6.2-inch display. The resolution will not be QHD. Instead, Samsung will put on a different aspect ratio, which is about 21:10 (possibly also 17: 9, as a video suggests from Samsung’s display division). Thus the display will be higher in relation to the width than is the case with current 16: 9 smartphones. The exact resolution is not known.
Samsung Galaxy S8 : Edge displays there are also here. Thus, the S8 is equipped mainly with a smaller display, 5.7 inches, the resolution of which corresponds to the S8 Plus.
AMOLED screen with RGB matrix : Samsung uses the latest generation of AMOLED technology, which can cover a wide color gamut. Enhancements are especially necessary for VR applications, as the predecessor recognizes individual subpixels (aka fly screen).
Apparently, the S8 will have an AMOLED display with an RGB subpixel matrix, which can counteract this effect. What does not exactly sound exciting, but would be quite spectacular: Previous AMOLED panels usually use a sophisticated arrangement of subpixels, whereby several pixels divide the red and blue subpixels – called Pentile Matrix. Subpixel rendering ensures that the content is still displayed in detail. This trick leaves the pixel density high, but the subpixel density of a Pentile display is about 30 percent lower than that of a classic RGB panel. The difference is hardly perceptible in the everyday life at high resolutions, but in virtual reality applications very much. SamMobile calculates that a qHD Pentile display comes to a total of approximately 7.3 million sub-pixels, while a corresponding RGB display but has about 11 million subpixels.
Samsung Galaxy S8 without home button : One of the key design features will disappear with the Galaxy S8: a home button no longer exists.
Fingerprint scanner on the back : Not quite clear is the position of the fingerprint sensor. Possibly this will migrate to the back. However, Samsung also has the option to integrate the sensor unobtrusively into the front panel.
Dimensions of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus : GSMArena scored leaked sketches with size. These show that both the S8 and the S8 Plus have gone much further than their predecessors. For the smaller S8, the sketch indicates 140.14 x 72.20 x 7.30 mm. So the S8 would be about the size of the S7, but a few millimeters wider. The S8 Plus, on the other hand, measures 152.38 x 78.51 x 7.94 mm – which is significantly wider than the S7 Edge.
No Force Touch, for an S Pen : Galt meantime a Force-touch display as possible, then Samsung now seems to have decided against a pressure-sensitive display. Instead, there will be an S Pen as an accessory for the Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus. With this measure, Samsung apparently wants to satisfy disappointed Note-7 buyers.
Waterproof to IP68 : Like the predecessor, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the Galaxy-S8-generation is waterproof to IP68 his (explanations of the IP protection classes ).
Samsung Galaxy S8: Camera and Self-Cam
For several generations Samsung’s cameras in the Galaxy-S smartphones are considered very good. Also in 2016 the camera was surely one of the highlights, but the competition has caught up. Samsung has to go with the Galaxy S8.
According to the information from Eldar Murtazin, Samsung will not take a big step at the camera: it should be improved in some places, especially the lowlight performance. From features like a dual camera Samsung seems to have adopted however. This could not be shown in the tests of different prototypes.
The Selfie-Cam of the Galaxy S8 is to dissolve with 8 Megapixeln and thus to the competition. A special highlight could be for fans of self-photography: According to the Korean website ETNews, Samsung is to provide the camera module with an autofocus function. This is standard for main cameras, but this also takes up more space. According to the information, Samsung should have found a way to design the motor for the lens movement smaller, so that the autofocus module does not have to protrude over the display surface. The Selfie autofocus can help sharpen images of different depths.
Samsung Galaxy S8: Earphone connection is maintained
Apple renounced the iPhone 7 on the headphone jack. Samsung will not go this way. Although the Galaxy S8 will have a USB-C port, but also a 3.5 mm port. Some say the Galaxy S8 will also have stereo speakers. The accessories around the smartphone get more attention. Samsung is supposed to introduce wireless headsets, which are similar to the IconX listeners.
The Galaxy S8 also features stereo speakers. According to recent sketches of protective sheaths, however, they radiate above and below and are thus not directed forward.
Samsung Galaxy S8: processor, RAM and other
When Galaxy S8 the Exynos 8895 or, depending on market Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 are used. Both will be manufactured using a 10 nanometer process. In the test lab the Exynos chip clock frequencies of 4 GHz should be able to withstand the chip, but in the serial version, the chip only clocks around the 2.5 GHz. An ARM Mali G71 is used as graphics chip.
Samsung does not go to the limit of feasible when it comes to RAM and internal memory: The S8 will receive 6 GB of RAM. The internal memory is used by Samsung at 64 GB, which is connected with the fast UFS 2.1 interface. The MicroSD slot remains. There may also be a variant that has 128 GB of memory.
According to Murtazin Samsung does not change the battery compared to the previous generation. If this information is correct, the Galaxy S8 will have a 3000 mAh battery, while the S8 Plus will have a 3.600 battery.

Samsung Galaxy S8: Features
Samsung Galaxy S8: This can be the digital assistant Bixby
Samsung has previously independent KI provider Viv bought ( the official statement ). Already on the Galaxy S8 its digital assistant should be preinstalled – in all likelihood carries this name Bixby. Bixby will be responsible for the complete voice control of Samsung’s own apps. As with the competitors of Google, Amazon, Microsoft or Apple, not only are assistant features on the feature list: Instead, Samsung is developing a third-party open platform, with which Bixby becomes the control center of Smarthome.
A report of the magazine Korea Herald contains the latest Samsung plans for Bixby. The AI Wizard is not intended to be limited to smartphones, but also to run on various other devices. There will also be remote control functions: it will be possible, for example, to give the refrigerator the command to view pictures on the smartphone. Smarthome is also called Connected Home.
Currently, however, the platform is not yet big from the available competition, according to Korea Herald. However, it seems clear that Samsung is putting great hope in Bixby. Viv Labs and Samsung agree that AI assistants are the next major revolution in IT. Samsung may even have a custom button for Bixby to integrate into the case.
Samsung Galaxy S8: Pen as accessory and new PC mode
Samsung will introduce the S8 with some accessories. Sammobile.com reports that there will be an S Pen as an accessory. The pin does not have its own plug-in slot. In addition, there could be new wireless headphones, possibly in-ear design, to launch the S8.
Samsung is also to work on a competitor for Microsoft’s Continuum. A presentation that AllAboutWindowsPhone.com has placed on the Internet suggests. Thus, there should be an Extended Workspace, which is displayed on a monitor. Apparently, the connection is made wired. The image on the monitor shows a user interface that is very similar to Chrome OS. Apparently, the Extended Workspace also supports multiple apps in windows. The Galaxy S8 would be extended by a desktop experience. Together with the mouse and keyboard, the S8 could mutate into the mobile workstation. However, this information about the Samsung Desktop Experience is not verified yet.
Samsung Galaxy S8: Iris scanner is expected
An Iris scanner is actually confirmed in the Galaxy S8. Samsung had already installed at Note 7 one such. The plan was not to provide additional unlocking, but the Iris scanner was designed for a much more important aspect: it should provide a non-fake identification method. Samsung, for example, wanted to protect files on note 7 from unauthorized eyes. An API should ensure that third parties can use the Iris scanner. After the note 7 has now been taken off the market, the platform is once on ice.
Up to the Samsung Galaxy S8. Because already with the announcement of the note 7 it was clear that Samsung would in future future smartphones to buy an iris scanner – even of medium-class devices was the talk. The Galaxy S8 is therefore a perfect candidate for the iris scanner.
Samsung Galaxy S8: Quo Vadis, Home Hutton?
For many years, Samsung has been pinpointed by hardware buttons, although Android is obviously using virtual buttons. It is unclear whether this will remain so with the Galaxy S8. A patent application shows that Samsung will also want to recognize wipes on the home button in the future. Depending on the situation, the S8 could then start other apps. In standby mode, for example, the phone app and the camera would then be reached with a wipe to the left or right.
If Samsung on the home button on the front hold, it still remains unclear whether Samsung continues to choose a mechanical design. Some say that in the future, the home button will only be designed as a sensor field, in which the fingerprint sensor would also be integrated.
There is still uncertainty about the positioning of the fingerprint sensor. While it was previously assumed that the biometric sensor is still placed in the front of the Galaxy S8, the Korean news magazine Naver wants to have received different information. According to this, the fingerprint sensor is to be laid on the back of the Galaxy S8. As a reason, the news magazine states that the iris scanner is already placed on the front side and thus the fingerprint sensor from Samsung is to be placed on the back, below the Kameralinse.
If Samsung even abandoned the Home button completely and instead put on the virtual buttons of Android, the fingerprinting sensor could still stay on the front. In the meantime, optical scanners are available which even function through glass. A good example of this is Synaptics. The sensor manufacturer unveiled the optical fingerprint sensor FS9100 on December 13th. This detects fingerprints through glass up to 1 mm thick. Whether this concrete module is used in the S8 remains questionable, because the mass production is only to start in the second quarter 2017.
Samsung Galaxy S8: Concept pictures make you want more
Traditionally designers are thinking about new smartphones. These illustrations, however, have nothing to do with the actual Galaxy S8, but they are at least pretty looking.
The designer Steel Drake has been thinking in many concept designs and thus summarized his dream of a Samsung Galaxy S8 in beautiful illustrations.
The reverse is noticeable in his design studies. According to the designer, this should consist of metal. Understandable, as with every smartphone with a glass back, fingerprints accumulate throughout the day and the smartphone becomes slippery. For a metal back then that would not be the case.
As another change, Steel Drake would like to remove the Homebutton and fingerprint sensor from the front of the Galaxy S8. This allows the display to occupy almost the entire front.
Since the pictures of Steel Drake are somewhat older date, the designer could not take into account important features such as the Iris scanner yet in his design study. The conceptual design of Geskin, dated December 9, 2016, has now taken into account these features. However, as Steel Drake had anticipated in his study months before, there is no Homebutton in the concept study of Geskin. Samsung will then show us how close or close these design studies were to the final Galaxy S8 at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona.
