How to Update Samsung Galaxy S5 to Android 7.1.1 Nougat

Prerequisites and things to remember before installing the modified ROM

Guide to update Samsung Galaxy S5 to Android 7.1.1 Nougat
Download and install on your computer the USB drivers for Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F.
Enable USB debugging mode by the developer menu.
You must have a custom recovery tools such as CWM or TWRP installed on the device. Here we used CWM.
Please Backup important data on the device before going ahead with the guide.

After you download the custom ROM Android 7.1.1 Nougat AOKP and Google Apps on your PC, connect your Samsung Galaxy S5 to your computer via USB cable.
Copy the zip file of the custom ROM on the SD memory card of your phone. [Note: You may want to paste the .zip file to the root of the SD card and not in a folder].
Now turn off the device and unplug it from the PC.
Restart your device into recovery mode by holding down both the “keys Volume Up + Home + Power .”
Once in recovery mode, perform a Nandroid backup of your existing ROM. This is necessary to allow you to reinstall the current ROM if you do not like the new firmware. To perform a backup, select Backup and Restore> Backup again . Go back to main recovery menu after backup is completed.
After getting into recovery mode clears the phone memory by selecting ” wipe data/factory reset .” [Note: Use the Volume keys to navigate and the “Power” button to select options while operating in recovery mode].
Now clear the cache memory by selecting ” wipe cache partition .”
Back to ClockworkMod Recovery and select ” Advanced” and click ” Wipe Dalvik Cache ” [Note: This step is optional, but highly recommended, so that the user will not face the startup cycles or other errors in the middle of ‘ custom ROM] installation.
Go back to the main recovery screen and click on ” install zip from SD card .”
Click on ” choose zip from sd card ” and go to the .zip file of the ROM Android 7.1.1 Nougat AOKP you have stored on your SD card and start the installation process. Again reboot your device into recovery mode and now go to flash the .zip file Google Apps [Note: Use the buttons Volume buttons to navigate and switch Power to select options].
Once you completed the installation process, go to ” +++++ Go Back +++++ ” and reboot the device by opting for ” reboot system now ” to be found in the recovery menu.
Now, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will take several minutes to complete the boot process. Then go to Settings >> and select ” About phone ” to confirm that the installation of custom ROM Android 7.1.1 Nougat AOKP has been successful.
