The British Parliament was closed on Wednesday after an attack was reported outside its headquarters in central London.
Aerial footage of local TV shows several injured people along the Westminster Bridge, very close to the seat of the British Legislative. There is also a person injured in front of the Parliament Square.
The local media speak of two separate incidents, one on the bridge and one in front of the Palace of Westminster. In the incident of the bridge everything indicates that they were wounds caused by a car that ran over several people.
Scotland Yard, the metropolitan police, is cataloging the incident as a terrorist attack.
The Associated Press news agency quoted a cabinet minister indicating that the alleged attacker was shot and wounded by police after he stabbed an officer.
The condition of the police and the assailant is unknown, but a witness explained to the British agency PA, medical teams practiced resuscitation maneuvers to one of them.
Minutes after the incident a helicopter landed in Parliament Square while police sirens were heard.
The incident, at the moment very confusing, occurred after the weekly questioning session with British Prime Minister Theresa May in the House of Commons.
